I caught one tonight that was 27-28 inches long at Fort Hill. The wind was nor'east and it was the only fish of the nigh. I have a friend that said the beach ( Nauset ) was hot the other night. I haven't heard anything other than that. The crowds were down this weekend. I watched a guy in a tin boat last night fishing - or shall I say boating. This guy ran the boat up to the top of the cove and drifted down towards me while casting a popper. He never turned the engine off once. He would drift along with the engine idleing casting towards the channel. After three or four casts he would run to another spot 300 yds away and repeat his performance. After trying four different places he left at full speed to wherever he came from. He was probably so intent on fishing as many places as he could he never realized that he never had a moment of quiet in the entire outing. I was glad to see him go. My boat is now waiting for the boom truck to relift the engine back into her spot on the engine beds. Anything that could have been replaced while the engine was out was done. I'll be out soon enough.
