Hi Everyone ! The last week has been tougher than the previous week due to the small tides we had been having. It seems the fish just became more selective. A couple of those days I was quite worried that we were going to get the limit of one per person. I had to go to even light leaders and smaller hooks while fishinmg in the rips and I started using live eels in the open water east of Chatham. We have managed to get our fish all this last week though, all in sizes ranging from 32" to 39" on 12 pound test outfits too ! There does't seem to be as much commercial effort this year, which is leaving the water a little less crowded. I guess the combined efforts of the 3 mile limit restriction and the amount of smaller fish inshore have kept the boys home doing other things. at any rate the tides are going to improve steadily this next week with the peak on the new moon on the 30th. I expect to see a steady improvement until then with the last week of July an all out blitz in the rips. If you are considering a trip, please don't wait until the last minute to book it if you wish to get a decent day and tide. Please call me at (508) 255-0911 or email me to get the latest data on the fishing. Even if you don't go with me I'll give you my thoughts on what's going on. For beach fishing information, check out Blackbeard's in Eastham. I require a deposit of one thirdto reserve the day you wish. Since Cape mail can be slow it needs to be sent a minimum of 5 days in advance. I hope to see you. Thanks, Capt. Bruce Peters
