I finally broke the 30 pound barrier this week at Bearse's Rip east of Monomomoy Island lighthouse. She went 42.5 inches and estimated to be 32 pounds, was caught on a sand eel. The following day we got limits of 34 inch plus fish, including a nice 27 pounder. There have been scattered fish in the open water, but they are moving fast and quite finicky as they are feeding on small (tiny) sand eels. Water temperature is key with 58-59 degree water one day and 52 the next with slow feeding fish. Cod fishing is slow for the hook boats with the bigger tides. The gillnetters have been finding fish though as they move into the inshore areas. Small tuna are still rampant offshore. I keep hearing of guys complaining about the numbers of under 73 inch fish. Good fishing, Bruce
