There has been some really good cod fishing very close to Chatham. The standard joke is that we will have to be re-gelcoating the hulls when we haul out this spring because we are fishing so close to the beach. That sand really stings you when the wind is blowing ! The fishing really has been close though, 45 to 75 feet of water just east of Monomoy Point. It seems to be slowing up now these last couple of weeks. My last day out I had to leave this area and go back to the stand by routine of a bump here for a few drifts, a wreck there till they stop biting etc. Still we seem to manage some good fishing for the customers inside of 45 minutes from the dock. If you are interested in some good winter cod fishing without the 3 hour boat ride, give us a call.Bruce
