Today, scattered schools of stripers in the 29-33 inch class were found under the birds east of Chatham. Although there was a lot of southwest wind, we caught fish steadily with the Fin-S baits for the first time this year. When the tide slacked the blues showed up and the bass scattered and did not come back on the next tide. There are schools of finicky fish west of the Monomoy Island also. It seems the method that is working the best is to drift up to the finicky fish and anchor the boat before the boat spooks the school. then they can be cast to without driving them away. Lastly, I have heard several reports in the last two days of fish off the Wellfleet and North Eastham backside beaches. There are still good cod fishing to be at at the southwest corner of the Stellwagon and closer. There are small to medium bluefin tuna crashing on the surface in the backside area off Wellfleet. Good luck, Bruce
