Every dog has his day. Mine was Friday the 28th. I was fishing for giants 40 plus miles offshore ( by myself - no party) and had a pretty uneventful morning. Hoping to improve my odds for the afternoon slack bite, I changed a few things, among them new leaders. Sure enough, right about at the slack, I hooked up to a nice fish. (giant tuna) I fought that fish for 2 hours and 45 minutes, and did everything right, yet due to a couple of mistakes, I lost the fish right next to the boat ! The fish was between 700-800 pounds ! Feeling like Ernie Hemmenway, I learned a few things on Friday and will be back too try again when this big Nor'easter lays down. Thats why they call it fishin' !!!
