My area has had a lot of smaller fish in the 30 inch range in the usual areas of topwater Sluggo and Fin-S fishing. I have managed to get the 34 to 38 inchers by fishing bait in the rips of Monomoy, but it has been hot and cold for the last week. I have been lucky in that the charters I have had were totally happy with the many 25 to 34 inch fish I caught for them. I still was unsatisfied, I suppose I am spoiled with the common 35 to 40 inch fish we usually have. It is my hope the northeast winds of the last day or two bring some of the big fish down that have been off Truro and Wellfleet's backside. False albacore are showing sporadically in the rips and off the beaches of lower and west Monomoy and Nantucket sound. I have caught three in the last three days. Cod fishing continues to be surpisingly productive, We are catching over 100 fish on most every trip, some up to 15 pounds, enough to keep my customers very happy. Giant tuna are showing more and more. Most of what you see is not feeding. The ones you catch are from the subsurface baits. There was a good bite for a few days NE of the BB bouy. I didn't make it there though, as I had all bass and cod charters. I see the bass bookings slowing down now, and intent to do some serious fishing for giants in the future. Thanks and hope to fish with you, Captain Bruce Peters
