It has been blowing strongly from the southwest for the last five days. I have cancelled most of the last 1/2 dozen charters. The fishing has been poor compared to the last several years as well. So, the combination of the wind and the fishing has me returning some deposits and rescheduling some trips. The Rips at Monomoy have been bare of fish. There are some fish scattered in small piles on the bottom to the south and east of Chatham's "C" buoy. It takes a good bottom machine and a plotter to get back on them after the drift. Water temperatures have been wide ranging from 51 degrees to 67 degrees from one day to the next. It has been a sobering experience for us local charter guys that are havingrepeat customers that are used to 20 - 30 fish in the 35 inch range on every trip in previous years to come back this year to this ! My hope is that as of this last blow things will change and settle down some. Its possible its time to start looking to the deeper water to the east and north and possibly the further away rips to the southeast to see what may be there as well. Good fishing to you, Bruce
