WOW ! I am now realizing when I posted my last report. I am sorry that I havent done a report in so long !! I have had some major personal life issues this spring that I have had to deal with. It has distracted me from my duties here with site upkeep etc. One of which was the boat swamping at the dock a couple days after I put her in the water this spring. its a long story but, she got hung up under the dock with a rising tide and flooded the deck. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but I had removed the deck hatches to install a couple new batteries and the water flooded into the engine room and the engine. She didnt go down all the way but I did end up replacing the engine and wiring etc. So now here we are in the first week of July and it seems I really havent missed all that much. Fishing on the east side of Chatham has been fairly nonexistent. The sand eels and following Blues and Stripers finally moved in last week. Its still spotty fishing though, with small pods of Bass being found on the bottom in 55 to 80 feet of water. There is a lot of bait in the area though which is encouraging. There are still small fish inside of Pleasant Bay and on the flats of Monomoy. It seems as though the hot spots as of the last few days are Martha's Vineyard and Race Point. What this all means for the summer fishing, I dont know, but I am hoping that the rumors of it "breaking loose" any day now will come true. I would love to go out and catch fisdh all day long as I am used to in prior seasons !
