Wow ! I am realizing just how long its been since I posted a report here. I guess that proves how sidetracked I can get over "fall activities". "Fall Activities" are defined in order: The Fall Tuna Bite, MA Bowhunting, Kansas Bowhunting, and other related Connecticut Bowhunting. There may be a little gun hunting thrown in as well. The highlight of the "fall activities " this year was my opportunity to harvest a HUGE 180 class typical buck in Kansas, which I choked on. I missed under him, sprinkling the ground with a little sliced off white hair. I had practiced for months at ranges far exceeding the distance I missed him at, yet at crunch time I lost it and miscalculated the distance. I saw him the next day though, back at his duty of mating with all the does in the area, so I will have to wait until next year to try him again. Live and learn. I was fortunate enough to take a nice 8 pointer and a doe there in KS, and yesterday during shotgun week here in MA, I harvested a nice fat 4 pointer. I could use any tips or recipes for jerky if you have them. Oh yeah, if youv'e got a nice little unhunted peice of property maybe we should work something out ???? For me the fishing activity has dropped off considerably. The cod are still far offshore and wont move close until the bait moves in. The winds have been voracious, making for a long trip should one manage to go find a few fish. I have hauled the boat out of the water until spring. When she goes back in will be determined by the amount of cod fishing requests I recieve after the month of February and the amount of spring striper fishing requests I get. I will try to keep you up on the reports over the winter. Thanks & Stay Warm,
Bruce
