Hi Folks, On the eastern side of the tip of Monomoy Island lies Bearses Shoals, a shallow ledge of sand and cobbles extending about 3 miles eastward from the tip of the island. This area is always a great producer and the last couple of days have been as good as it gets. Yesterday afternoon when the tide was running strong, there were gulls diving into the rip to get the small squid the bass were driving to the surface. Every drift through we caught doubles and triples until the tide petered out. We never caught a real big striper, most were 33-34 inches, and we did land several in the 35-36 inch size. I will be headed there again this morning to see what the day brings. If you are interested, there are openings on Tuesday and Wednesday, of next week, July 6 & 7. Call me at home between 6 and 9 at night. The number is 508 255-0911. Email will work too, but it may take a little longer. Well, it is now Saturday evening, and I never made it back to Bearse's as there were so many fish outside and to the south of the Chatham inlet that I didn't have to. We ended up with some nice sized fish too. I think we caught about 20 on each trip today and of that, there were at least a half a dozen in the 38-40 inch range today.
Thanks, I hope to see you,
