Hi Folks, Have you noticed that there has been long period of time since the last fishing report ? Thats because there has been nothing good to say ! I absolutely will not lie in a report, and I will not cut and paste from another site's report or from what I read in a publication. I have seen both of these things recently in other "fishing reports". So if you dont hear anything from me its because fishing is crappy and/or I have nothing good to say, (like last week) or I am too busy answering emails and phone calls to sit down and write out the report in a timely fashion. (as is the case in mid season). MY report will cover the areas EAST of Monomoy and Chatham and the rips to the southeast of there. Anything to the west of Monomoy will have water temps too warm to interest me after July 4 weekend. I will do my very best to give a report at least once a week. If you want to get a very good general Cape Cod Fishing report, subscribe to the On The Water report and forecast at:http://www.onthewater.com/fishingforecast.htm
That said, the stripers are starting to move into the areas to the east of Chatham. I have caught them on the bottom in 80 feet of water, and I have caught them in 25 feet of water right outside the"South Way". Yesterday's afternoon trip to Bearse's rip produced limits of nice healthy purple striped bass that were covered in sea lice up to 39 inches. A gill netter captain I talked to told me the bait he metered in 60 feet of water was "ridiculous". Once that bait gets to the 40 foot depth, the bass will be piled up on the bottom just like it was last year. I have the day off today, but I have charters every day until July 7 th, so I will have a good handle on where and what is going on. There are 3 openings for 5 hour trips left through the July 4 & 5 holiday weekend, if you would like to reserve a date and time, give me a call at 508 255-0911 and leave a message.
Thanks very much,
Bruce & Miss Jillian
