Hi Folks, I just came back from a day on the water with my girlfriend Kathy. ( she is a fishing nut and it was what she wanted for her birthday ) The ocean was like a millpond (Kathy says it was a "sparkling" day) and the fishing was great. We were catching fish on every drift through the rips. We caught about 15 or 20 stripers from 33 inches to 38 inches in the short time we were there. I am not saying where I was exactly, but I was in the rips fishing with light tackle and fresh sand eels. I did see some fish being caught right in front of the Chatham inlet too, but those folks were using wire and umbrella rigs.
The giants seem to be not here. The tuna spotter I spoke with today, told me he was in the air for 8 hours yesterday and never saw one legal fish. There are some small 100 pound fish by the BC buoy, in the pods of whales there. The whales are bubble feeding and you can fish near the feeding whales for a chance at a decent recreational sized Bluefin Tuna. The weather report is great with less than 10 knots of wind through the rest of the week. If you can manage to get away, call me for some great end of season fishing. (508 255-0911)
Good Fishing to You,
Bruce & "Miss Jillian"
