Hi Folks, The sun finally came out this past week and should be doing wonders for the fishing on the Cape. There are regular reports of catches in the high 20's of fish in Pleasant Bay and Nauset estuary. Most of the fish are small, in the 25 inch range, with an occasional keeper or two. Then there are the big fatties that are cruising through at over 20 and 25 pounds right behind the mackeral and squid, surprising anglers once in a while. Speaking of mackeral, I have a report that Kathy's workmate Mary and her son John and grandson Dylan were tonging the mackeral outside of Green Harbor a few days ago. She said they were catching them 5 at a time on the rigs ! I did get down to Stage Harbor last week and bought a tote full of big mackeral hook baits to freeze up and use for giant tuna. It really wasn't the plan but when my Saturday charter customers didn't show up at the dock, I manged to be productive in another way. Now you now why I get a deposit up front. There are 4 new T shirt winners as well this week. Steve W., Steve B, Peter B., and Dennis O all were the 15 persons to respond to my little charter trip survey and won a nice embroidered shirt. Here's the email I sent to them:
Hi Steve(s),Dennis & Peter, Congratulations ! Each one of you were the 15 th person to fill in my fishing charter survey form. You have won a Capeshores Charters "T" shirt with a nice custom embroidered Striped Bass on the breast. If you look at the photos on my website, at http://www.sportfishingcapecod.com/photos/default.cfm?photo=capeshores-tshirts, you can choose a color and then with your reply to this email telling me the size and color preferred, I will mail out a shirt to the address you filled in on the form. Bruce & "Miss Jillian"
If you don't want to wait to be the 15 th person to win a shirt you can buy one for around 14 or 16 bucks. (I forget what the price was.) I am having some new baseball style hats made up with just the striper logo on the front of the cap with "sportfishingcapecod.com" on the back of the cap above the strap. These will come in both female and male colors and can be had very reasonably as well.
Bookings are really picking up this week and this morning the phone is ringing off the wall. It must be the sunshine. If you are looking for some quality light tackle striped bass fishing on the Cape, call me at 508 255-0911 and set up a trip. Thanks and good fishing, Bruce
