Well it is blowing from the northeast about 22 knots again with rain too. I put the Miss Jillian in the water on Monday afternoon and she sits on her mooring in Chatham Harbor. Here is the url to the Chatham Fish Pier Webcam where you can see her.http://www.telecamsystems.com/fishpier/autopan1zoom5.htm. On the way down I was watching the water temperatures in Pleasant Bay. I averaged 52 to 53.5 degrees which is a little cool for decent response from the stripers. On the way back from Chatham I fished a bit in my skiff behind Strong Island as the tide was dropping good enough to have some current. I managed to catch several stripers and my first keeper of the year !! I was using a tiny jighead with a white grub tail on the back of it. Last night's dinner - baked striped bass with dill, parsnips and salad. Yum ! Life is good.
I would expect that IF the sun ever comes out for more than a day or two, we will have ever improving fishing. There are keepers being caught in the Town Cove with regularity and there are always plenty of schoolies to be had in Pleasant Bay, although just a few keepers as yet. I have not heard about Cape Cod Bay, but some of the charter boats in Rock Harbor are starting this week as well. I have a charter on Saturday and will have more to report at the end of the week.
Good Fishing,
Bruce
