Hi Folks,It looks like the sun has finally decided to show itself ! That should bring the herring and the closely following striped bass up the coast into our rapidly warming waters. Fran at the Goose Hummock tells me there are a few schoolies being caught at River Road landing in Orleans. If you ever need to know what's happening on the Orleans, Eastham, Harwich, Brewster fishing scene, ask Franny. He is Mr. Fishing ! With the sun out like it is the whole of Pleasant Bay should be swarming with the little guys by the end of the week. I imagine that Red River Beach in Harwich should be heating up as well.
I have been getting the boat ready for the upcoming season. The propellor has gone to be computer scanned and refinished and refined. I have ordered some custom metal work in a new radar stand and some rocket launcher type rod holders for the side of the cabin and the top of the cabin roof. That way its a lot faster and easier to clear the deck when we get a decent tuna on and when I come in to port to offload/load parties. A new grounding wire system is getting installed and I am looking at a new propane stove for the boat as well. I have ordered some new Shimano tuna trolling gear and am waiting for a bit to buy the lighter Shimano systems I am interested in. Last but not least, a new chest freezer is being delivered on Thursday to stockpile some bait for the upcoming season. Before you know it we will be fishing every day and there won't be the time to do these little things.
Hope to see you this season,
Capt. Bruce & "Marilyn S"
