Hi Folks,Yes we still are catching the tuna on a consistent basis. This morning we had 5 around 50-60 pounds for the 8 hour trip. Yesterday we did much better with 9 and we lost 2 fish during the fight. Thursday we had a half dozen bluefin I think (I forget) for 7 hours, then we came in and went back out for the stripers and caught 5 decent fish over 35 inches. Most of these tuna are in the 47 to 50 inch range, but another real "giant" was taken today within 1/4 mile of where we have been fishing ! A giant is a large bluefin tuna over 73 inches. I have yet to get the report on how big the fish was, but it was caught by Capt Art Brosnan on the "Capt. & Tonnaire", and it took about 3 hours to reel in the fish ! Nice going Art !
I am quite booked up for the next week but after Labor Day, there are some openings if you wish to reserve a trip.
Here is what dates are left:
September 4, 5 in the afternoon, 9, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 28 in the afternoon, and lastly, 9-29 in the afternoon. Once we get into October, the giant tuna will be moving through the Great South Channel again and we will be scheduling charters for them on a limited, first come, first served basis.
Thanks very much,
Capt. Bruce & "Marilyn S"
