Hi Folks,Yes it stopped raining, its just a "drizzle" now !
I cancelled my trips today and yesterday due to our "unusual nor'easter" as the weather folks are calling it. I'm behind on painting and deck work due to the weather, and it seems the charter bookings are not what they were the year before. The stock market went down yesterday on no real news and it seems that until the sun comes back out of hiding we are in a "hold" pattern. The fish however, do not care one bit about the market or our moods as they relate to economic security or vacation planning. They need to eat.
Nantucket Sound is loaded with squid and stripers. When these squid are in the rips and the bass are chasing them with the gulls overhead, its a sight to behold. It is now the time of the year to witness just such an event. In preparation for this, I purchased 150 pounds of fresh squid from the trap boats this spring to use for bait for these next 3 weeks that will have squid in the rips as a bait source. Call to ask about a decent tide selection for these trips.
My computer has been acting up again. I am so sick of Microsoft spyware issues ! It seems there is no solution. I am seriously considering buying a Mac. As soon as I hear back from Tim and Scott on the connectivity issue (if any) with my website and hosting, I will decide. I would like to have video on my website eventually and it seems the Mac system is quite efficient for such a use. Any feedback on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Folks, be ready for when this sun does decide to come out for more than a day. The fishing is going to bust wide open ! The tuna fishing is above average for the year already. Big (really big) stripers were being caught in the Martha's Vineyard area a week ago. My Friend Kenny B had placed first, second and third this year of the annual Mashpee Yacht Club tournament, with stripers weighing 44, 38 and 34 pounds. They are out there.
Come catch one !
