Hi Folks, Every year I send out an email listing the weeks or groups of day with the largest and smallest tides listed. Generally the largest tides have the fastest moving water offshore, with short duration slack water periods the smaller tides have slow moving currents and longer slack water periods. That said, here is the list for this upcoming season. These are the days with extreme tides, either larger or smaller than normal. If your day isn't listed here its ok, it just means its another average good fishing day on Cape Cod.SMALL tides : June 13 - 18, June 28-30, July 11-19, July 27-31, August 8-16, August 25 - 29, September 7-13, September 23-25, October 3-11, Oct 22-25, Nov 1- 8 These are the smaller tides suitable for decent tuna, cod, and wreck fishing. We try to stay away from the full moon though, as the fish will feed at night, and bite less during the day.
LARGER tides: June 19-27, July 1-10, July 20-26, August 1-7, August 18-23, Aug 30- September 4, September 15- 21, September 27- October 2, October 13-20, October 26 - 30 These tides are larger and better suited for striper fishing in the rips, moon phase matters less on the bass fishing.
Good luck,
