Yes Folks,Today was the best tuna bite of the year ! Each of my clients onboard the Marilyn S reeled in at least two bluefin tuna today ! We had approximately a dozen other bites where the fish just missed to hook entirely. It was an incredibly good day ! Im glad because today's customer had never reeled in his own fish even though he had come with me 5 times prior to this trip. He is such a great guy, that he always let his guests go before him when we got fish on. Today was different. Mike, I'm glad you had your fun day !
We had travelled to the area much further away than we go to on the 8 hour tuna charters, as we had the full 10 hour trip and had the luxury of travel time to get there. Many folks ask what is the difference between the shorter option bass and tuna trips. The first answer obviously is cost. It cost more to travel farther than it does to not burn any $4 per gallon diesel and stay just outside the harbor on a fishing charter. The second answer is travel time. We have the luxury of traveling to further spots to find you better fishing. If you want the best trip you can have and are willing to pay a couple hundred more for that trip, by all means do it as its so hard to schedule and coordinate a trip, why would you want to put an unnecessary limitation on it ?
I knew there were fish there as yesterday I fished there in the crappy weather in the morning and we picked up 3 nice tuna in the first hour or two of fishing. So today I went bacjk there and although the fish had moved a few miles, we did eventually get on them for some of the best hook up action we have seen all year. September and October are by far the best months to go after bluefin tuna here on Cape Cod. We still have some limited openings for the next week if you want to call me at 508-255-0911 and check it out. Take my advice though and give me the time we need to put you on some great striped bass and bluefin tuna fishing.
Thanks very much,
Capt. Bruce & "Marilyn S"
