Hi Folks,Yesterday's morning charter landed two beautiful bluefin tuna ! After two trips without a fish it was a welcome outing. The first was on the big rainbow bar and measured 59". The second fish took us into the backing and acted very different. We soon realized it had been hooked in the side towards the back half of the fish and came up dead. Usually this 71" fish would have been released as we already had one on board. Ethically it seems to be a real waste to let something as prized as this sink to the bottom unused. I will only say that fish was appreciated yesterday by almost half the folks I know in Chatham. The bass bite has been typical for July. One tide is great with stripers busting on the surface chasing squid out of the water, and the next tide not so much. The way i have been getting the fish on the off tides, is to use fresh frozen squid and drift chunks through the rips in the most natural presentation I can. Our rods are bending consistently. Limits are being caught.
My reservation book is getting filled up, it would be a good idea to try to reserve a day or two for your fishing this summer before the best days are already gone. You can call or email me, but email is best as I usually don't get home until after 6 pm at night, and I can respond in writing and then list the days i have open for you to select from. Take a few moments to look through my web pages to answer many of the simple questions on duration rates etc, that will save time on emails back and forth and get your trip reserved quicker.
Thank you,
Capt. Bruce & "Marilyn S"
