Hi Folks,The latest fishing report from my Chatham area is not good for the stripers but is great for bluefin tuna. Yesterday’s trips to the Bearse’s shoal area at the tip of Monomoy returned 4 fish on my morning charter and only 3 stripers on my afternoon trip. Lets hope some fish move into the area !
The bluefin tuna are here and they are really good sized fish this year. Most of the fish are over 70 inches and 200 pounds. They seem to be ranging from 66 inches to over 90 inches. I landed two bluefin last week that were 98” and 78”. Last Tuesday’s fish went 75” and was about 225 pounds. Another boat I fished with on that day caught an 84” bluefin tuna about 2 hours after my hookup. I am not saying where I was or what i caught them on. Don’t ask.
A long time customer of mine just called last night to cancel a couple trips they had booked due to a death in the family. I now have Tuesday July 21 and Thursday July 23 open for fishing trips. May I suggest a tuna fishing charter ? An eight hour trip is $1150 and the 10 hour version is $1450. You may bring up to 6 people. The whale show and the chance to hook into and land one of the hardest fighting fish in the ocean is what you will get. Currently open dates are July 20, 21, 23, August 8, 17, 26, 29, and more in September. Please call the cell to discuss or reserve a date.
Good Fishing to You,
Capt. Bruce & “Marilyn S”
