Hi Folks ! My downeaster "Marilyn S" goes into the briny this morning for another season. Year 2017 makes for 20 years of continuous charter operations from the Chatham Municipal Fish Pier. We pay dearly for the privilege to use that harbor and facilities, but having parking, bathrooms, and a close location to some of the best bluefin tuna and striped bass fishing on the east coast make it worth it. Our striped bass fishing starts around mid June due to the cooler Atlantic waters located on the east side of Cape Cod. Im envious of the operators that have the great spring fishing in Cape Cod Bay (on the west side) due to earlier warmer waters, but I know that by mid August their waters are too warm for decent consistent striper action and we will be catching steadily into late October. Our Bluefin Tuna fishing starts June 1 and goes throughout the summer into November. Many years we still are catching migrating bluefin tuna just off Chatham around the Thanksgiving holiday !
Some new upgrades to echo sounder capabilities and some experimental downrigger technology from the west coast means Charley Tuna better watch out, Im coming for you....
Hopefully you too can come along and experience some of our great fishing action this summer. Like us on Facebook @
