Hi Folks, Im sorry I had small internet connection glitch which stopped my email and online connection for a short while. It was due to progress as we are in the processes of changing and upgrading our internet servers. We should be back to snuff as of Sunday afternoon. Sorry for any confusion that may have caused you.
There are striped bass in every rip so its a great time to come fishing in south east Cape Cod. Handkerchief Shoals, and Bearses Shoals as well as Stonehorse all have nice bass on them. Its just a matter of when and where you are. Tide is critical. When you learn the tides, you will catch more striped bass.
Bluefin tuna have yet to show in any numbers. A couple of decent fish have been taken with the Harpoon Category boats, but I don't know of any trolled fish as yet. I have had several tuna charters scheduled and I have either rescheduled them or reduced their trips to striped bass charters. I refuse to take folks fishing in an area where I don't think I can produce. Honesty has been a decent policy so far, and Ill keep it that way. Id rather you came back for another trip with me, then try another boat or charter service. There are whales and bait and birds in good quantities offshore, and I expect catches will be reported all along this next week.
Bookings are fast and furious at this time of year. Please call ahead. Don't expect to drive onto the Cape on Saturday and call for an opening on Monday morning. The decent charter services are booking at least two weeks in advance. You may get lucky with a cancellation or two but why wait, especially if you know when your 2018 Cape Cod vacation is going to be ? Many folks book a lodging a year in advance, yet for some reason, fail to reserve their fishing fun family day a week or more ahead. Its hard to disappoint folks, but we can only do so many trips in a day's time.
Good fishing to you all,
Captain Bruce Peters & "Marilyn S"
