Hi Folks, It is the August heat and doldrums time of the year. It seems the bass are scattered and need to be finessed to get a limit. That means lighter tackle and an earlier departure time or a more natural way of fishing for them. Lately some bluefish have shown up, and these tackle busters will break your line and bite off your favorite lures. Ive been using some live bait to get my limits of bass lately.
As for the bluefin fishery, it actually has been greatly improved in the last 10 days and I feel it will get even better after we get through this last full moon phase. Here again we have been targeting these amazing fish with live baits and lighter leaders than usual. We drift with baits under the balloons and wait for the bite. The fish are seemingly in two size classes. The 63 to 70 inch size, suitable for the recreational fishers and the 90" to 110" size class of a true 500 to 700 pound range. Both sizes are intermixed so one really does'nt know which bite will produce which sized fish. Be prepared !
Here is a list of the following openings that I have available. September 3 & 4, for 1/2 day trips, September 15, 18, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 open for full day tuna charters. Give me a call if you wish to reserve one of these prime dates before they are gone. 508 237-0399
