There will be rate increases effective immediately.
I don’t understand this Covid 19 stuff ! Due to the shutdowns, one cannot get a building, dump or beach sticker or other permit or renew a registration to a vehicle. Town hall is shuttered. Doctor’s offices are only operating remotely. Apparently everything in government was or is still shut down, and yet my just received real estate tax bill went up another 22% ???
We are not allowed to go to work, but all expenses of life’s needs like food, heat, cable, internet, and insurances etc are still increasing. In trying to renew my charter insurance this year, I find a 55% increase in my annual premium ! WHAT ? Fuel last year was $1.80-$1.98 at the dock. This year it is already at over $3.25 per gallon. My town permit to operate at the pier is almost $3 grand.
As a result, I am forced to raise my charter rates this year another $50 on each trip offered. I realize some of you have already reserved your dates and times and paid a deposit. If you wish to cancel your trip as a result, I will understand and return your deposit amounts. I have tried to hold rates down over the past half dozen years, but it is now time for an adjustment. I hope you can understand. I love what I do, and I love all of my customers, but I also want to succeed at what I love. Hence the changes.
