Hi Folks, I am going to change my rates this year. No, they aren't going down ! With diesel fuel prices almost $2 per gallon higher than they were three years ago, and now at $4.80 per gallon, I can no longer hold my rates at the 2009 levels. Effective this year, the 4 hour, 5 hour, and 7 hour bass trips will go up $25, to $550, $625 and $825 respectively. The 8 and 10 hour tuna and combination bass/tuna trips will go up $50, to $1150 and $1450. I hate raising rates, and I feel a fuel surcharge is just a politically correct way to raise rates. I've had to raise them because fuel costs last year were $10,548 which is $4300 more than I paid in 2009, and $2200 more than last year. Until we can figure out a way to run diesel engines on algae, I guess we are stuck with it.For those of you that have already paid a deposit and feel that this pushes the costs over the top and you cant do the charter at the raised rates, send me an email and I will refund your deposit. Hopefully our economy will not remain stagnant for much longer, but the rhetoric I'm hearing coming from DC seems to be more partisan than ever and I am not hopeful that things will change soon. Sorry to be the bearer of less than optimum news.
Thanks very much,
Bruce & "Marilyn S"
